The chili Mac came highly recommended, and did not disappoint. I was not expecting the portion sizes to be so generous. Coneys with everything were also hard to beat. This is a hidden gem for sure. The staff was friendly and helpful, and explained everything I needed to know, like they had done it thousands of times, but still engage with customers like it's the first.
Initially I was headed to Corral but entered IH by mistake. I inmediately left and while I was walking to my car, a waiter from IH came out (even though the low temps) and asked "are you looking for Corral? Is just around the corner". I was so impressed for his willingness to help that I decided to eat here and I was really satisfied. The attention was excellent and the food great.

Ideal has been a staple in the community. I have not been there in a few years, and nothing has changed. I got a cheeseburger and the chilli mac with cheese onions and beans, the beans were cold; I thought it was odd, so I asked, beans are always cold. To be honest once I mixed up everything it didn't effect the overall flavor. I'll definitely be back!
It's just a simple hot dog and chili place. The sauce is just a regular 1. Not like a Cincinnati chilli
This is a time capsule of industrial Americana. Located just down the street from a major General Motors plant, Ideal is a quick lunch or pre-shift perfect for the American worker. Quick, simple, yet still brought to the table by a waitress. The hot dog sauce is distinctly Toledo. Unlike the gloppy mess of Detroit Coney sauce, the sauce at Ideal is more meaty and nearly dry, more like a taco meat. The hot dogs are on the smaller side, which makes for a more balanced hot dog. Each bite is a perfect bite.
